These perks include powertrain and non-powertrain warranties, a 182-point inspection with a downloadable report, roadside assistance, and a CarFax or Autocheck vehicle history report.

HondaTrue Tiers
The HondaTrue program uses a three-tier system to rate each of its used vehicles. These tiers correspond to the overall quality and age of each vehicle, allowing customers to modify their purchases based on their needs. Each tier offers different perks as we outline below:
HondaTrue Certified+
HondaTrue Certified + is Honda's top tier that includes its highest-quality used vehicles. To qualify for this certification, a vehicle must be a 2021 or 2022 model. Each car includes a limited warranty that covers the powertrain for seven years or 100,000 miles. Certified+ vehicles also include non-powertrain coverage for five years or 86,000 miles.
Other features of the certification include roadside assistance, two complimentary oil changes in the first year of ownership, a three-day exchange policy, trip interruption to cover travel expenses if a vehicle is disabled over 100 miles from home, and concierge service. The concierge service feature gives you access to an agent who can send directions to your car if you are unfamiliar with an area. Additionally, customers receive 90 free days of SiriusXM.
HondaTrue Certified
HondaTrue Certified is the middle tier of Honda's certified pre-owned program. In order to qualify for this certification, cars must still be relatively new. This includes vehicles made in 2017 or after. The warranty on Certified vehicles covers the powertrain for seven years or 100,000 miles, just like the Certified+ program, and covers non-powertrain issues for four years or up to 48,000 miles. Vehicles purchased after the expiration of the new vehicle limited warranty receive non-powertrain coverage for one year or up to 12,000 miles.
Other features of the certification include roadside assistance, up to two oil changes in the first year, trip interruption, concierge service, and a three-day exchange policy. Customers will receive 90 free days of Sirius XM. HondaTrue Certified is a good choice for customers who want many of the Certified+ perks but don't mind a slightly older car.
HondaTrue Used
HondaTrue Used is the broadest category in the certified pre-owned program. This tier includes vehicles made between 2012 and the present. Although it doesn't include all of the perks that the higher tiers offer, HondaTrue Used still offers great value. Like the Certified and Certified+ programs, it includes a warranty. The warranty offers powertrain and non-powertrain coverage for 100 days or up to 5,000 miles.
The Honda Certified Used Certification Process
Each certified used Honda goes through an extensive 182-point inspection that covers mechanical components as well as interior and exterior appearance. Major systems included in the inspection include steering, brakes, drivetrain, engine, tires, wheels, suspension, finish, interior, and exhaust. These inspections are performed by certified dealer technicians. If these professionals locate any damaged parts, they will recondition them or replace them with genuine Honda components. Finally, they will ensure that all routine maintenance is current.
Once you decide to purchase a Honda certified pre-owned vehicle, you will receive a CarFax vehicle history report free of charge. Technicians pull this information during the inspection process to ensure that the vehicle hasn't suffered any accidents or serious damage.
